Advanced Individual Crisis Intervention and Peer Support

Individual Crisis Intervention is the most common response of many crisis teams to critical incidents. It is frequently provided in a variety of settings, contexts, and workplaces, and may present many unique and challenging situations. This workshop is for anyone providing crisis services who wish to enhance their ability in challenging situations. We will build on the material covered in the “Individual Crisis Intervention and Peer Support”. We will also address high risk situations encountered by crisis/ peer support teams. Practical exercises will be used to refine and develop skills for effective one on one support.

This course is designed for anyone who desires to advance their knowledge and skill providing individual (one-on-one) crisis intervention in the fields of Emergency Services Business & Industry, Crisis Intervention, Disaster Response, Education, Employee Assistance, Healthcare, Homeland Security, Mental Health, Military, Spiritual Care, and Traumatic Stress.

This course requires previous training and experience. ICISF’s “Individual Crisis Intervention and Peer Support” workshop should be viewed as a prerequisite.

    Two-Day Workshop: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., 13 Contact Hours; 13 CE Hours for Calif. MFTs & LCSWs; 13 CE Credits for National Certified Addiction Counselors OR 1.3 General CEUs from UMBC; 13 CE Credits for Psychologists pending approval; 13 PDHs for EAPs pending approval.

    Continuing education information listed is only applicable when attending an ICISF Regional Conference.
