Ertl, LPC, CTS, Barbara J.
| Barbara J. Ertl, LPC, CTS has been employed as a school social worker for over 20 years. In that capacity, she serves on a multi-district crisis response team. She provided leadership to the General McLane School District (Edinboro, PA) following the highly publicized shooting there. Barb has consulted with school district personnel throughout the United States and Canada on the development of crisis plans and intervention/postvention strategies. Barb is a Certified Trauma Specialist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. She is the senior partner in a private consulting firm that specializes in the development of crisis/emergency preparedness plans and teams (preschool through college) and other settings (community, industrial and institutional). Barb is the author of three text books specific to school crisis response and numerous articles and/or book chapters. Additionally, Barb has 23 years of public safety experience encompassing fire, EMS and law enforcement. Barb has been on the faculty of ICISF since 1999.
