| George S. Everly, Jr., PhD, FAPM, CTS, ICISF’s Chairman of the Board Emeritus and Representative to the United Nation, is cofounder of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc. and is on the faculty of Loyola College in Maryland. Dr. Everly is a Fellow of the American Institute of Stress and a Fellow of the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine and has held appointments at Harvard University, Harvard Medical School and Johns Hopkins University. He is the author, co-author or editor of ten textbooks including: Critical Incident Stress Debriefing: An Operations Manual (3rd Ed); Innovations in Disaster and Trauma Psychology Vol. I; Critical Incident Stress Management: A New Era & Standard of Care (2nd Ed); Controlling Stress and Tension; Psychotraumatology; and the critically acclaimed, A Clinical Guide to the Treatment of the Human Stress Response (2nd Ed). Dr. Everly has lectured in sixteen countries on five continents on the topics of stress and post-trauma syndromes. Dr. Everly is past President of the Maryland Psychological Association and developed the disaster mental health network for the Central Maryland branch of the American Red Cross.
