ICISF Continuing Education Information
ICISF offers General Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for most courses(see course descriptions for specifics).
All ICISF Certificates of Attendance are distributed via email provided after the completion of each course to all participants whose attendance has been verified. Individuals attendance certificates including CEUs will only be awarded for hours/days that attendance can be verified per ICISF policy.
Non-Profession Specific Continuing Education
In cooperation with University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Department of Emergency Health Services Professional and Continuing Education (PACE), ICISF participants with verified attendance will be awarded general Continuing Education Units (CEUs) on their Certificates of Attendance.
These CEUs are awarded based on a formula of 1 Continuing Education Unit for every 10 contact/classroom hours (refer to Course Descriptions)
ICISF strongly recommends that participants retain all Certificates of Attendance as ICISF cannot provide transcripts of courses attended.
Profession Specific Continuing Education
ICISF certificates of attendance are not proof of profession specific CE/Contact Hours. It is the responsibility of the participant to determine if their licensing board will accept these continuing education units (CEUs).
For courses presented by an ICISF Approved Instructor, check directly with the instructor or the sponsor of the training to determine what, if any, profession-specific CEUs are available for that course.
The ICISF is an approved provider for the following Profession-Specific Continuing Education:
Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA)
Professional Development Hours (PDHs) are available for Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA) for most courses offered at ICISF Live Trainings, Regional Trainings, Online Courses, Speakers Bureaus & World Congress. The number of approved PDHs depends on the course selected, and is equal to the number of contact (instructional) hours for that course.
- Request EAPA when you register.
- After you have completed the training course and filled out the evaluation, the PDH approval code will appear on your certificate of attendance OR for online courses, you will receive via email.
National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC)
Courses offered at ICISF Live Trainings, Regional Trainings, World Congress & Online Courses meet the qualifications for 7-27 contact hours (depending on the course attended) of continuing education credit from the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC).
- Request NAADAC when you register.
- After you have completed the training course and filled out the evaluation, the approval code will appear on your certificate of attendance OR for online courses you will receive via email.
