Assisting Individuals in Crisis Online

Before You Register: You Must Be Comfortable With An Online Platform And Your Computer.

This online course does not include the classroom exercises that are part of the in-person version of this course.  A separate “Skills” program that provides the exercises will be offered quarterly at a charge of $25.00 (effective January 1, 2022).  You are not required to take that course, although your core knowledge of Assisting Individuals in Crisis is incomplete until you have participated in the interactive classroom exercises.  The information regarding the date of the skills program, which is scheduled quarterly, will be given to you at the completion of this online course.

NOTE:  This course can’t be used towards the Certificate of Specialized Training Program or towards the Approved Instructor Candidate Program requirements until the classroom exercises have been completed.

George S. Everly, Jr., PhD, CCISM is an award-winning author and researcher. In 2016, he was ranked #1 published author in the world by PubMed PubReMiner in the field of crisis intervention. He holds appointments as Professor in the Department of International Health (affiliated) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Associate Professor (part time) in Psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and Professor of Psychology at Loyola University in Maryland (core faculty). He is considered one of the founding fathers of the field of disaster mental health. He was a co-founder of the Dept of Psychiatry at Union Memorial Hospital and served on the management committee 12 years.

Course Information

This is a self-paced online course, which is fully asynchronous, meaning there is no instructor.  This course will allow you to acquire new skills according to your own schedule.  Individuals will have 30 days to complete the course from time of your registration.  This course includes content and rich media, along with interactive activities to promote deep learning in an online format.

Dates: This online course will open upon registration.  You will have 30 days to complete the online course.  All modules of this online course will close at 11:55 pm (EST) 30 days from your registration date.

Cost (Introductory Rate): $275.00 for ICISF members; $350.00 for non-members.
