Michael Swainson was a First Responder in Canada for 25 years. Michael was a Primary Care Paramedic, Firefighter and Emergency Medical Dispatcher before succumbing to the accumulated effects of traumatic stress. In January of 2008 he was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Michael now teaches PTSD Education, Prevention and Coping Strategies to First Responder agencies in Western Canada and is also a CISM instructor for the ICISF. Michael lives with his wife Darielle in Kelowna, British Columbia. |
